Double Eagle for Satoshi Kodaira

Satoshi Kodaira carded an ultra-rare double-eagle two on the first hole of the Fort Worth Invitational on Thursday, nailing a three-iron from 234 yards out. It marked the first such effort at Colonial in 40 years and only the second in the 72-year history of the tournament.

The last – and previously only – double eagle at the Fort Worth tournament came in 1978 when George Burns found the bottom of the cup with a 1-iron from 200 yards on the same par-five first hole.
