A traveling tribute

Memorial Day weekend in Fort Worth has become synonymous with watching great golf and having great fun at the Charles Schwab Challenge. But it’s also an opportunity to pay tribute to fallen heroes.

The Wall, a 3/5-scale traveling version of the powerful Vietnam Memorial in Washington, D.C., is located at the patrons’ entrance near the second green, and it presents an opportunity for anyone attending the tournament to stop for a few minutes and absorb the sheer enormity of the military sacrifice. More than 58,300 names of brave men and women are etched into the stone tablets stretching almost 300 feet.

Enjoy another great weekend of golf at Colonial, and remember: “The price of freedom is written on The Wall.”
